Playing your part
As members of the church we encourage everyone to serve in a ministry or on a team. We want to make sure that St George’s is a place where everyone can feel safe. As such we are have a Safe Church policy including a screening process for anyone volunteering for a new role, and you’ll find the information on this page.
EXPLORE IDEAS
If you are interested in Serving at St George Maple Ridge please fill in the ideas form indicating areas you might be interested in serving.
You are not committed to serve once you tick a box, don’t worry! Your details will be stored in our database and shared with the relevant ministry leaders.
APPLICATION FORM
For each volunteer role we have a Job Description and in some cases additional guidelines. Please review these so you can understand what you are being asked to do.
There is a short application form that helps you and the ministry leader understand why you would like to serve in this particular ministry.
SAFE CHURCH SCREENING
Once you have applied for a role, either the Safe Church Officer or one of the church leaders will be in touch.
The Screening In Faith process depends on what role you apply for. It may involve
1. Interview with a church leader
2. Police record check (with vulnerable sector check)
3. References being contacted.
4. Safe Church Training
All applications to serve will be processed in accordance with our Church Vision and Values and in accordance with the Diocesan Screening in Faith policy. This may include an interview, reference checks, and Police Record Check for medium and high risk positions.
