Christmas Food Hamper Collection
From December 1st to 14th we are collecting non-perishable food for the Salvation Army Emergency Food Hamper program in Ridge Meadows. You can drop items at the front of church to the right of the stage area during these dates when the church is open.
Examples of non-perishable food that you could add to your shopping basket are:
- canned soups and stews
- oil
- peanut butter
- jam
- mayo
- pasta and pasta sauce
- rice
- They are also in need of baby wipes and size 3 diapers.
Here are photos of the collection we did last Christmas season.

Where does the food go?
The Salvation Army in Maple Ridge provide emergency food hampers for people who are not yet receiving assistance from the local food bank, are experiencing an emergency such as natural disaster, an unexpected financial hardship, or are struggling to make ends meet. If you are in need of on-going supports we can assist in applying with the local food bank.
Emergency Food Hamper clients come from a variety of backgrounds, including:
- Working families, and single mothers or fathers
- Seniors
- Individuals trying to make ends meet
- People dealing with a natural disaster (Fire, Flood, etc.)
- New immigrants and residents of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows
- Parents and/or children with disabilities
You can find out more information about the program and how to either request a hamper for yourself or make a monetary donation to the program on the Ridge Meadows Salvation Army website. Information taken from RMM website.
